Food

The pug is a greedy dog and always wants food (even if he or she is full). Be careful not to indulge the pug too much on this.

Originating from the yellow race, the pug is prone to lactose intolerance. Be careful not to feed the pug with sugary food and milk. Lactose free milk products such as fresh cheese and curd are a good choice.

Pugs are a greedy lot and they can nearly dig their face on anything to eat. Be judicious to feed what is really good for him or her. They love non vegetarian food but avoid giving them roasted or spiced by food as it makes them itch. Bones are a big NO for them as they have small teeth and a narrow passage. This could lead the bones to get stuck up and make them bleed. Also for cooked up non-vegetarian diet, it is best to have the food washed a number of time over. Over the years caring for my pet (Mini) I have been able to identify what is best for her.

Boneless chicken              : Sure
Mutton / Beef                    : For a change (This makes them lethargic)
Fish                                   : At times. Ensure you feed them mashed up with other food and
                                            there are no bones.
Egg White                         : Sure
Egg Yolk                           : Sorry
